Аннотація: The article deals with the economic nature and classification of consumer loans, the peculiarities of the con-sumer lending process by Ukrainian banks, and evaluates the lending standards of individuals as a way of regulat-ing consumer credit. Consumer loans in the credit portfolio of the banking system of Ukraine have been analyzed and consumer lending performance indicators have been investigated. The impact of accelerated and insufficiently controlled growth of consumer credit has been substantiated, which has exacerbated the problems of imbalance of commodity and credit markets and contributed to the accumulation of risks.
