Summary: The article examines the importance of the interdependence of economy and ecology in the modern world. The main problems and prospects of the rapidly developing ecological and economic direction are highlighted. The prospects of ecologization of the economy as a necessary component of modern development are determined. The close connection between the environment and economic activity is revealed. As a result of the study, it is determined that economic activity in the world is growing rapidly, and along with this factor, the environmental situation is deteriorating. The necessity and importance of mastering the environmental friendliness of production and ecologization of the economy as a factor of sustainable socioeconomic development are considered.
